What do you look forward to most about getting older?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 05, 2008:

-- > I don't mind getting older as my thoughts gets younger.   I can honestly say I felt much older in my teens then I do now.    I use to have all these problems and now none of them exist in the same way.  Thoughts do not age!! I look forward to new thoughts about old ideas.  I guess I've turned into a simple man in a lot of ways but I think that's part of my journey.   We are all in this together and we all have lessons to learn.  Did you know every cell in your body is replaced every 7 to 10 years?  You're body is never more then 10 years old in your entire life.

I agree with you SO much.  I don't really feel age at all.  And that fact about all the cells being replaced in our body all the time is so amazing.  Thoughts do not age.  A great saying.  Thanks so much.

I agree and enjoy your reflections on becoming older! Well said. Thoughts don't age they evolve. I wish I could agree with your cell re-growth theory, but can't. Instead I focus on the truths and facts. We will age, degenerate, grow weak, frail and die. Our bodies will anyway. So I have adopted a new strategy, find a way to live long after I die. That brings me back to your words about thoughts. Thoughts can be passed on in actions and deeds. So I plan on leaving a legacy that will not grow old, will not die and will not pass away. I believe God has given us each a gift meant to be passed on. That is our gift to God. I've adopted the quote “What you do in life echoes in eternity”. It mirrors my Christian beliefs and teachings. Life doesn't end in bodily death which is temporary. Life begins at spiritual rebirth which is eternal and will reflect your earthly life. So live it well, live it fully, live it for others and find life's true meaning. just my 2-cents, God-bless, <>< Sonny <><
